Changing Perceptions in Cinema
At Dashington Productions, we like to create films that make a difference.
You know that feeling when you leave the cinema thinking “that was a great film” and you talk about it on the way home, have a dream about it, then wake up the next day to still have it fresh in your mind?
That’s the feeling a Dashington film has, and that’s what we’ll deliver for your project.
We make films based on the stories that are worth telling… yours.
There’s a lot going on right now.
Sometimes what’s going on within us is overshadowed by big world events.
But, your authenticity, your truth, the small events that are happening to you that you think are small and irrelevant, are in fact the most important stories that haven’t been told yet.
These stories fuel gateway pieces to makes your mark in the industry.
Hi, I’m Rufus.
After leaving The Brit School I started auditioning and working on lots of student short films up and down Britain. Those 5:30am starts for a student project in the middle of nowhere were great, I was doing what I loved (albeit for no money!)
I was cast in an Amazon Tv series “Patterns”. I remember wanting the part so badly I read an entire body psychology book to buff my chances. I learned how to do the perfect handshake but on the day I was met with “elbow bump” Ugh Covid. Regardless I managed to snag the role and filming was a breeze. I worked alongside the director on the days I wasn't needed for acting which is how I started learning about Production.
As much I love acting, the rolesI was getting offered were the same old boring parts. Angry teenager roles. Coming out roles. Drug dealer roles. So I decided to be the change and wrote something different. I created Dashington Productions and started from scratch. Along the way I fell in love with creating films that mean something.
With Dashington Productions, you’ll find me working with clients to bring their stories to life, directing everything from the casting to the actors to the colour grade of the final edit.
This is Dashington by the way, and yes you will be able to meet him.

As artists, perfectionism plays a big part in our projects. But from experience, we know that moving forwards, whilst making a little bit of progress everyday, is a lot better than trying to make something perfect.

We love original stories. That doesn't mean it has to be out of this world and unbelievable. it just means that it has to come from you. It's like the no two snowflakes analogy, you'll never be creating your project from your current perspective, in this moment in time again, and that it beauty and it sure is original.

It's hard to be confident all the time. But confidence is important. We are bound only to what we believe we can do. So have confidence and believe in yourself, and if you can't, let us do it for you.
